Brian shook his head, a look of disbelief, a disarmed smile. “You have no idea what that just did to me,” he said, his voice dropping a register. His palm went to her cheek, the flesh soft and warm, yielding to his touch. He tugged at her lower lip with his thumb and when he spoke again, his eyebrows had drawn together. “Or what I want to do to you. I’ve had time to think about it.”
He had plans, elaborate imaginings that woke him up aching and frustrated and full of thoughts of Valerie, her beautiful green eyes and that full mouth, the way she sounded when he touched her, how she’d sound if he was inside of her.
Jesus.
Brian had the absurd notion that life wasn’t this good; he’d get hit by a bus on the way to his car, or someone would drop a piano on his head. Maybe he’d have a freak heart attack. He felt like he needed to ask her for clarification: You serious? Right now? Whatever she wanted, however much, he was in. He wasn’t going to let an opportunity to lock this down pass him by.
