She saw him trying to get past the girl with the drink in her hand, and her sharp ears picked up the squeak when he stepped on her foot. The vampire darted around the table before the mortal could stumble and potentially get pulled into the crowd. Get enough drunk people together, and anything could happen. Teddy could look after sales for a few minutes, since they had buttons and bumper stickers left now that the shirts were sold out.
"Are you all right?" she asked the Asian girl. Then she reached out to grasp Brian's arm to steady him.
