"Let's call it a combination of both," Gerald replied, after returning the usual felicitations. He relaxed back in his chair as he took a sip from his drink. "My usual research into anything that appears on the underground market for artifacts, plus the fact that there has been very little discovered of any great importance in this region before, which as we know makes it rather unique has led me to be here. Either there has been a singular dearth of activity in the area over the centuries, if not millenia, or there is much that is hidden beneath the veil of desert and dust." He took another sip before adding, "of which there is much of both as I'm sure you well know." He lowered his glass as he cast a quick glance around them.
"And from what I've already learned there appears to be a rather sudden increase in the population of a variety of individuals of interest. And we both know what that can lead to." He gave her a smooth smile. "Have you noticed anything?"
