The opening of a resort was the equivalent of Christmas on the Las Vegas strip. New, fresh, trendy, wealthy: all descriptors that appealed in such a place. So when a project called the Skylark opened its doors to the public, all suites had been booked well in advance for a premium. For those without reservations, there were plenty of opportunities to enjoy the grandeur of the city’s hottest – at least for the moment – night spot.
An elegant gambling hall on the first floor…
A rooftop pool and open-air bar with live music…
A glass-front elevator afforded gorgeous views of a hotel atrium that was open all the way to the roof, and the many indoor balconies between ground level and the thirtieth floor.
