The tiny hairs in the lobe were highly reactive to touch. There was a network of itty-bitty capillaries in which he heard the blood swooshing when he fed.
“All I know’s what D told me,” he said, tilting his head to watch his finger. “There’s nine of ‘em. They’re all girls. If you kill one, another one pops up like a whack-a-mole. She says there’s one in town. I dunno, vampire grapevine bullshit.”
